EXPERIENCE
After graduating college, I worked briefly as a substitute teacher. That experience really encouraged me to obtain my own classroom. I worked previously as a math, reading, ELA, and social studies teacher in middle grades for 15 years in Fulton County. A few extra-curricular activities I have supported includes:
In high school and college I was an employee at Chick-fil-A for 7 years. I remember receiving a $1000 scholarship from the Operator Barry Wesson. I learned some valuable business lessons that I still apply today as an educator. VERY GRATEFUL FOR THIS EXPERIENCE. Tasty chicken too! |
BIO
I am happy to be an educator in DCSS. This is my 19th year in education. I love ATL sports teams, especially the FALCONS. But please don't remind of Superbowl 52, as I am still deeply emotional about that loss.
Since a modeling or professional athlete was not in my future, my next option was to become an educator. BLESSINGS! It has worked out tremendously. My 3rd and 4th grade teacher Mrs. Alston was inspirational to me, and she is one of the reasons I am a teacher today. I am from Huntsville, AL. I have a wonderful family that I think LOVES me, too.
I enjoy implementing technology and learning new trending tools in education. In 2020 I was selected as the "Teacher of the Year".
